Tuscaloosa Amphitheater releases “competitive” 2017 lineup

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — “This is an awesome lineup that’s been put together for 2017. But know this: there are more to come,” Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox warned the crowd at Tuscaloosa Amphitheater’s season kickoff press conference.

The season lineup: Mary Mary and Tasha Cobbs, Jaheim, Def Leppard, Dave Matthews, Soundgarden, John Legend, and Rod Steward with Cyndi Lauper. Maddox said the schedule competes with markets like Birmingham, Nashville and Chattanooga.

“We believe here at the City of Tuscaloosa that we can compete with anyone. It’s that type of attitude and belief, that we can be the most innovative and effectively-managed city, that has given us opportunities this concert year to really leverage it,” Mayor Maddox explained.
